A total of four planes failed to land at Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport due to bad weather. A number of airlines decided to return to the airport of origin and divert landings.
“There were four flights to Denpasar which failed to land due to bad weather,” said Stakeholder Relations Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I Ngurah Rai Airport, Taufan Yudhistira, Monday (6/12/2021).
He revealed, the incident occurred on Sunday (5/12). The Super Air Jet plane is scheduled to land at 17:40 WITA. The Airbus A320 aircraft decided to return to base to Cengkareng.
Then Citilink airline from Cengkareng, which was supposed to land at 19.30 WITA, chose to divert to Juanda Airport, Surabaya.
At 20.40 WITA, the Batik Air plane from Makassar, which was scheduled to land, diverted to Cengkareng. Finally, the charter plane from Bandung multiplied the landing to Surabaya.
Bad weather also had an impact on delaying the departure of four planes from Ngurah Rai Airport. “It consists of Super Air Jet, Citilink, Batik Air and Lion. All of them are for Cengkareng,” said Taufan.
