KAI Suessed Leaders of Islamic Boarding Schools After Being Hit by KRL in Citayam

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) demands accountability from the Honda Mobilio driver, Ahmad Yasin, regarding the KRL accident at the Citayam crossing, Depok, West Java.

The reason is, the aftermath of an accident at a level crossing which caused disruption to the KRL trip for the Bogor-Jakarta Kota relation on Wednesday (20/4). Responding to the demands, Ahmad Yasin, who is the head of the Islamic boarding school (Ponpes) opened his voice. He did not accept being sued.

“Why should it be prosecuted? People who want to cross why should the train (crossing gate) be provided with the correct area, not manual,” said Ahmad, quoting detikcom, Thursday (21/4).

Ahmad Yasin feels innocent. He passed when the crossing or railroad crossing was still open. According to him, KAI should have made a safe crossing gate so as not to cause casualties.

“KAI (should have) made the correct doorstop, so that it doesn’t kill the victim. Thank God I was saved,” he said.

PT KAI itself will report and hold Ahmad Yasin accountable in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

KAI’s VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said, KAI regrets the carelessness of car drivers who do not prioritize train travel, causing disruption of KRL travel which hampers many people’s activities in the morning.

As a result, a number of KRL trips were delayed because they had to take turns using 1 lane during the process of evacuating the stuck car, then the KRL facility was also damaged.

“KAI will hold the car driver accountable for his actions for not prioritizing train travel, causing damage to facilities and disruption to travel,” said Joni in his statement, Wednesday (20/4).
