Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto claimed that Indonesians were more compliant with health protocols (prokes) than other countries. This compliance makes Covid-19 in Indonesia relatively under control.

“We are relatively more disciplined than other countries, plus we are a tropical country, of course different from a country with four seasons,” said Airlangga in a Medcom.id Crosscheck virtual discussion entitled ‘2022, Jokowi Holds Leapfrog,’ Sunday, January 9, 2022.

Airlangga said the good pandemic situation in the country could not be separated from the cooperation of all parties. The government is trying to make policies to deal with COVID-19 and the people who comply with these policies.

“There is also cooperation with the TNI, Polri, forkopimda (coordination forum for regional leaders), and the use of the PeduliLindung application,” he explained.

Airlangga reminded all parties to remain vigilant of Omicron transmission. Because, the new variant is spreading very quickly in various countries.

“In England there are 45 thousand cases, France 25 thousand cases, as well as in the United States and others,” explained the Golkar Party politician.

The government, said Airlangga, will continue to intensify testing and tracing. Then, ensure the availability of hospitals, medicines, and oxygen.

“Including several steps in the health sector and health protocols,” he said.
