The government appointed singer Maudy Ayunda as the government’s spokesperson at the G20 Presidency performance in Solo on 29-31 March 2022.
The introduction was held at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday (31/3/2022) at 17.00 WIB and broadcast on Kompas TV YouTube.
The introduction was preceded by an opening by the Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G Plate.
Johnny said it was related to Maudy Ayunda’s scope of duties as government spokesman in the G20 Presidency.
“The spokesperson’s scope of duties includes conveying information related to the implementation of the G20 Summit activities in Indonesia which will be attended by leaders of G20 members.”
“Second, conveying the progress of working group meetings, engagement groups, and side events in the G20 Indonesia presidency,” he explained.
He also continued that the government spokesman in the G20 Presidency is important.
“In order to realize a successful G20 Indonesian presidency in terms of substance and the implementation of the G20 chairmanship,” he said.
Furthermore, Johnny also invited Maudy to introduce himself.
Maudy also started his introduction by expressing his pleasure at his appointment as government spokesman in the G20 Presidency.
“I would like to thank Johnny G Plate for introducing me as part of the government spokesperson team for the G20 Indonesia presidency.”
“I am honored to be trusted to carry out the task of disseminating information regarding the G20 Presidency of Indonesia,” he said.
In addition, Maudy also admitted that he immediately agreed when asked to be the spokesperson for the show, which is held every 20 years.
“It didn’t take long for me to agree as part of the spokesperson team for the Republic of Indonesia government for the G20 Presidency.”
“I really want to be involved in this historic moment because this momentum only happens once every 20 years. If we are not involved now, when will we be?” Maudy said.
Furthermore, he also explained that the G20 Presidency is very important for the people of Indonesia.
In addition, according to him, the public should be proud of the appointment of Indonesia as the host.
“The G20 is beneficial for the Indonesian people. The arrival of thousands of delegates will revive our economy.”
“We must be proud that Indonesia has the opportunity to lead the discussion,” he said.
Maudy also explained that there are four things that will be discussed in the G20 Presidency.
“About the scenario of saving the world from a pandemic, a prolonged economic crisis, climate change, and digital change,” he added.
Maudy also stated that other issues that will also be discussed are strengthening the global health architecture, digital transformation, and energy transition.
“All these issues will be discussed in all sectors to later become a big capital, for the world to recover and rise even stronger,” he explained.
At the end of his speech, he also hoped that all elements of society would participate in communicating the development of activities and information related to the G20 Presidency.
“The success of Indonesia’s G20 presidency will be a proud historical record. The concrete results from the discussion of the three priority issues will bring about changes in our lives for the better,” he concluded.
